International Master Course on Aging Skin at Palais des Congres PARIS

フランス・パリで行われた「美容・アンチエイジング国際学会IMCAS(13th Annual Meeting)」に参加してきました。
IMCASへの参加は今回が初めて。
今回の学会では、ネーミングからもわかるように、比較的若い世代のドクター向けに外科的な手術を伴なわない若返り法について多く発表されており、参加者は 形成外科医は少なくほとんどが皮膚科や美容医学に携わる先生方でした。その中で特に興味深かったのは今後の美容整形において一役担うであろうステムセルで した。
This was the 1st time for me to attend IMCAS.
As the name of the Conference says this meeting is more for the younger generation who want to learn more about mainly non-surgical procedures.
There were less number of Plastic Surgeons, more dermatologists and Aesthetic Medicine doctors. For me the main interest here was stem cells and the role it will play in the future of Aesthetic Surgery.

ソウル経由でパリへ。
アシアナ航空はトップランキングの一つといわれているだけあって、食事やワインはもちろんのこと、行き届いたサービスがあり12時間のフライトはとても快適でした。
After a short rest in the Lounge at Seoul, took the Flight to Paris.
Asiana Airline’s inflight service, food and wine were all excellent. The 12 hour flight was pleasant and comfortable. Asiana Airlines is one of the top ranking Airline.

17:30、無事パリに到着。ホテル コンコルド ラファイエットへ。
通常学会は開催国の一番いいシーズンに合わせて開催されるのが一般的ですが、今回はどういうわけか寒いこの時期に開催されました。
幸い滞在ホテルと学会会場は隣接していましたので外の寒さを感じずに済みました。
Landed safely in Paris at 17:30
The same day. 5th Jan. Wednesday Checked in to Hotel Concorde La Fayette.
This hotel is connected to the Conference Center. Just 3 minutes walk without feeling the outside cold winter weather.
Most conferences are held in the best season of the country. But for some reason or other it was held in a cold season.
パリにはこれまでも数回訪れたことがありますが、本当に美しい街で、
芸術、ファッション、食事など何でも楽しめる素晴らしい所です。
そう言えばこんな歌がありましたね・・・。
I have been to Paris several times, Paris is a wonderful and beautiful city. They have Art,Fashion,Music,Food anything you want.
Like the song goes I love Paris in summer ……？
And I love Paris all the year round.
So why not winter, again 1st for me.
25階の部屋からはエッフェル塔、凱旋門など美しい街が一望でき、すぐ隣の学会会場も見えました。
Room was on the 25th Floor with a beautiful view of the city.
Eiffel Tower, Arch of Triumph,etc.
The Palais des Congres also can be seen from the room.

到着翌日（1月6日）、参加の登録を済ませ、
夜はホテルの33階にあるラウンジ『Le Bar Panoramique』へ。
ここではワインと軽い食事を楽しみながらパリの美しいパノラマ風景が楽しめました。
The next day 6th of January was registration.In the evening went to the 33rd floor of the Hotel. On this floor they have a Bar Lounge “ Le Bar Panoramique” which has a splendid view of Paris. Here you can enjoy the panoramic view with wine and some light appetizers.

学会1日目（1月7日・金）
1st day of Conference ( Friday 7th Jan.)
セッションは8時にスタート。
6つの部屋で同時に開催され、プレゼンテーションはどれも10分程度と短くディスカッションも15～20分程でした。
The sessions started at 8:00 a.m.
They were held simultaneously in 6 different rooms.
The presentations were all very short, about 10 minutes and discussions for about 15 – 20 mins.
10:00～10:30 ：展示場にてコーヒブレイク
Coffee Break 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. in the Exhibit Area.
10:30～12:30 ：ミーティング
Then meetings from 10:30 – 12:30.
ランチは会場スポンサーのはからいで展示場にサンドイッチが用意されていました。
Lunch (sandwich) was provided at the Exhibition Hall by the sponsors of the Exhibits.

In the evening from 7:00－8:00p.m.there was Cocktail Party sponsored by the exhibiting companies.
部屋に戻ると、グッドタイミングでパリのサンセットが・・・
Then went back to rest in room. A good time to see the Paris sunset from room.

夜8:30、豪華な造りのthe Pavillon Cambonにてガラディナーが開催され、
フランス料理とワイン、そしていろいろなダンスが披露されました。
From 8:30p.m. was the Gala Dinner held at the Pavillon Cambon is a spectacular room, with a magnificent glass roof at 35 feet from the ground.
The evening was spent by having French dinner with wine and entertainment by variety dance shows.
ディナーパーティ後は友人たちと共にディスコ「ブッダ」へ。
ディスコの名前にブッダとは…。
店内のあちこちには大小様々なブッダの彫像があり、大きなものは優に3階までの高さもありました。
ここでは瞑想しつつダンスをするのでしょうか？
After the dinner party went to a disco with several old and new friends. The name of this disco is Buddha bar. What a name for a disco.There were statues of Buddha all over the place. The largest one is 3 stories high. There are several others from small to big.
Well you have to meditate and dance???
学会最終日（1月9日・日）
昨夜のガラディナーでの夜更かしのせいでしょうか、朝のセッションは9時スタート。
Final Day Sunday Jan. 9th
After the Gala Dinner probably everyone had a late night. This morning the sessions were from 9:00a.m.

ミ―ティングのに合間にいくつかのブースをまわり、施術に役立つ面白いものがないか探してみました。
In between the meetings I went around the booths, looking for something new that would interest me and which will be beneficial to my patients.

最初にも述べましたが、今回のIMCASはどちらかというと若い世代のドクターを対象としたセミナーであり、私のように長年開業しているものにとっては残念ながら期待するほどのものではなかったです。
そんな中で唯一興味が持てたのが『ステムセル（PRP.PPP）』。でもあまり多くの発表がなかったのが残念です。
As I have said in the beginning, IMCAS is more for the younger doctors who wantto learn at the extra paid teaching courses.
For those who have been in private practice for long there is not much to achieve.
I was more interested in stem cells PRP.PPP and there application to aesthetic surgery. Unfortunately there were only few papers.
その日の午後、シャンパン地方で有名なランスへ足を延ばし2日間滞在してきました。
ランスでのワイン三昧についてはまた後ほど・・・。
Anyway from late afternoon today I am going to Reims (champagne region) for 2 days before returning to Japan.
